EcoNatick recommends some good books for Adults and Young Adult Readers:

1. Crow Planet by Lynda Lynn Hauptmann
The naturalist writer makes the best of moving close to an urban area – her tale of adopting and raising an injured baby crow appeals to all ages.

2.
Ice Walker by James Raffan
Narrator fictionalizes the struggles of a mother polar bear, Nanu, and her cubs – the story is lyrical and inspiring without straying into the sentimental or anthropomorphic.

3. The Last Winter by Porter Fox
The author, an expert skier and ski writer, writes of his expeditions to connect with global climatologists and experiences their adventurer-filled field work in arctic and subarctic environments on 5 continents.

4. Land on Fire (2017) by Gary Ferguson
Embed with America’s fire-fighting army and high tech military-style operations as they explain their efforts to prevent damage from and control our giant wildfires while protecting their corp from often unpredictable infernos. Learn about fire feedback loops, up-to-the-minute weather & climate forecasting, fire prevention techniques and the likely future consequences of the cycle that we’re in due to man’s development and climate change.

5. The Ministry for the Future (NOVEL) by Kim Stanley Robinson
One of our most-read modern science fiction writers incorporated political philosophy and economics into a hopeful solution to an imagined climate catastrophe beginning with a severe heat wave in India not unlike the one currently going on in its northern provinces where 1 billion people live. (better for adults)
