Join Dr. Roger Luckmann, Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at UMass Medical School, who will discuss: What to expect and why we’re experiencing hotter summers and more heat waves in Massachusetts; how our bodies maintain a normal temperature and adapt to heat exposure; what happens when we get overheated – heat exhaustion and heat stroke; the conditions, activities and personal risk factors that increase the risk for heat illness including how to prevent it and how to respond to the symptoms.
